Red Ribbon GNU/Linux para PS3 [12/06/2021]

¿Hay alguna manera de que se pueda ejecutar automáticamente el enable_wlan_on_fat.sh desde el principio?
He intentado hacerlo modificando el kboot.conf pero mucho me temo que solo sirve para ejecutar el kernel.
en init.d no valdría ya que una vez ejecutado el kernel, no se puede activar la wlan de la PS3 fat (o almenos con ese script).
En caso de que no se pueda de ninguna manera me surge una segunda duda.
Desde el pendrive puedo ejecutar el script perfectamente pero cuando lo paso al disco duro (en cualquier carpeta ya sea /boot /home o una nueva)
me pone siempre que lo intento ejecutar o cambiar los permisos desde petitboot permission denied.
Desde linux le he dado permisos de lectura/escritura. Debe de haber algo mas ya que desde petitboot es como si no pudiera tener acceso para ejecutarlo(ya que verlo si lo veo). Y desde petitboot tampoco me deja modificar los permisos, me sale eso de pesmission denied. Pero en cambio si me deja copiarlo al tmp por ejemplo y desde ahi si puedo modificarle los permisos y ejecutarlo.

El objeto de todo esto que he comentado es poder arrancar debian lo mas facil posible y no tener que estar tecleando para simplemente iniciar.

PetitBoot monta los dispositivos como de sólo lectura. Tienes que desmontar el dispositivo y volver a montarlo para que lo haga en modo de escritura.

When will you put back the RC3 of Red Ribbon with english language?
Or can you give the mdp for megaupload so I can download it, because I want to use it as a live cd, and not install it, so the bug, is not a problem for me.
Will you make it in other languages (french,etc.)?
If you need help and want to make a french version of RC3 I can help you for the translation, all I need is an english version of your distro, because I can't transalte spanish. So just ask me if you want

If not, will you make one which work on sd screen for the ps3? It will be great for all the users who want to have linux on ps3 and didn't have a hd tv screen.

Yes, I have unlocked download link and you can get it again.

Yes, it implements multi-language support. You can get the installer language files from /usr/share/installer path. If you translate english file to french I will include it in next release.

Release Candidate 3 has a bug on installer process, but I solved for next release.

Install process requires 2 GB of disk space.

What did I have to write to succesfully go to xorg.conf ? Am I writing everything correctly? Zhat should I do?

I've just try the RC3 and it works great on my sd TV, without doing anything, you rocks roadrunner, because your distro is the only one in defaut mode for the screen, so the only one I can easily use on my tv. But know that all seems to work great, I've got another problem, Iceweasel doesn't launch at all on my sd tv, when there's no problem on a hd tv. I'll try again. But why did you think there's a problem? And also when I try to install the RC2 on my usb pen in FAT32 the installer doesn't even recognize my usb pen, it only show me sda 3,73Go, which I think is the internal drive of the ps3. What should I do? Format my usb pen in something else than FAT32, made for linux?

OK. I will test Iceweasel with SD TV and trace the problem.

The sda device is your USB pendrive. GNU/Linux doesn't use FAT partitions, it needs Linux partitions for the installation process.
You can select the sda device and on the next step you are prompted to manually create linux partitions, or if you prefer, you can select automatic creation, this will erase the FAT partition and create Linux and swap partitions on it.

I'm sorry for Iceweasel it's worked great on the 2nd launch, I don't why it didn't work the first time but now there's no problem
But for the install on a usb pendrive I've already try what you say, and all work great until it tells me to choose between manually or automatic creation of linux partition, at this point both of them show me a black screen with line of codes for 2 secondes and come back to the menu to choose between manually and automatic. I've tryied this on an usb pen drive, and an external hdd, and it did the same on the two drives. Did you already heard of such a problem?
My usb pendrive contain 4Go and has some files in it, maybe I should erase the files before trying to install Red Ribbon RC2 on it. And what strange is that for the two drives I've tried it says to me that they are of 3,73Go, or one is of 4Go and the other almost 300Go.
Is it normal that it show me only 3,73Go?

For the screen, they are black borders all around, and it's a bit to little on my sd screen (but it's already so great that this is working), but what I have to change in xorg.conf to make the screen a bit more wide? And if it's not in xorg.conf where did I have to go?
And I've got one last question, how can I change the keypad from qwerty to azerty? Because in France we didn't have qwerty keypad.

Are you executing the installer from desktop or from terminal?

If you are executing it from desktop or menu, try plugging usb pendrive just before launch installer.

If you are executing it from terminal, don't forget add "sudo" command before.

In LiveCD the boot file is /etc/yaboot.conf. If you want alter it, you can copy all CD content to a USB pendrive and boot using the pendrive.

If you install it on a storage device, the boot file is /etc/kboot.conf.

I will upload a new release soon, with bugs solved and french language included.

OtherOS++ no está terminado. Sony consiguió que le incautaran los equipos a Graf_chokolo y no pudo terminar. Es normal que algunas cosas no funcionen del todo bien.

Estoy tratando de averiguar el motivo de que no reinicie correctamente. En cuanto acabe con la RC4 me pondré con ello.

¿Cuando enchufas el pen?

Si lo haces antes de arrancar, te lo monta automáticamente y puedes acceder a él abriendo el Administrador de Archivos.

Si lo enchufas cuando ya ha entrado en el escritorio, tiene que mostrar una ventana para preguntar que deseas hacer con él y si le dices que lo monte, lo abre con el Administrador de Archivos.

Deberías poder montarlo desde el panel izquierdo del Administrador de Archivos. Lo que me extraña es que no te pida montarlo al enchufarlo.

Si el formato es FAT o FAT 32, no deberías tener problemas.

Acabo de probarlo con una instalación limpia y ha aparecido la ventana indicando que se ha conectado un dispositivo de almacenamiento.

Mañana voy a publicar una nueva RC con varios problemas corregidos y que recomiendo instalar. Si el problema persiste con esa versión, habrá que verlo en detalle.

La utilidad que indicas es para utilizar el multiproceso de la CPU para realizar cálculos para Bitcoin, que es una moneda virtual que funciona mediante P2P. Tenéis más información en la siguiente dirección:

Deberías poder montarlo desde el panel izquierdo del Administrador de Archivos. Lo que me extraña es que no te pida montarlo al enchufarlo.

Si el formato es FAT o FAT 32, no deberías tener problemas.

Ayer no me dio tiempo a ver lo del loader ya que tuve la PS3 ocupada toda la tarde generando y depurando la RC4.

La RC1 tiene no tiene configurada la wireless en el Gestor de Redes WiCD. Está corregido en las siguientes RC y he puesto un post de como configurarlo manualmente.

O solo podria actualizar si formateo la particion y hago una nueva intalacion en ella, es que ahora que tengo el entorno preparado me da palo formatearla. jeje

Para los que tengáis la RC2, puedo publicar los paquetes del kernel para que podáis actualizarlo manualmente. Por supuesto os diré como.

En cuanto a los programas añadidos, están en la sección "Change log" y podéis instalarlos desde el propio repositorio de Debian.

La otra diferencia está en configurar la wireless en el Gestor de Redes WiCD, que es simplemente meter un valor en un cuadro:

Pues seria perfecto, aunque tambien te digo que si ves que soy el unico que no quiere instalarlo limpio tampoco es plan que te pegues el curro solo para mi, tampoco seria un trauma formatear. Pero si lo haces perfecto , los programas y eso no hay problema ya que como dices estan en los repositorios de debian. Y lo del wifi tampoco ya que se puede hacer manualmente.

Al fin he conseguido arrancar RR con bootos-petitboot.
Ahora una duda que tengo.
Me he metido en la consola y he estado ojeando /dev.
Es normal tener tantas vflash??? me salen ps3nflasha,ps3nflashb,ps3nflashc,ps3nflashd.
Y tambien ps3vflasha,ps3vflashc,ps3vflashd,ps3vflashe,ps3vflashf,ps3vflashg. Eso es normal?
Lo pregunto tambien porque en el GameOS el hd me lo marca de 465 y tengo libres 412!! Y no tengo nada instalado...

Si, es normal.

La VFlash originalmente tiene 6 regiones, cada una es accesible desde el dispositivo correspondiente: ps3vflasha corresponde a toda la VFlash, ps3vflashb corresponde a la región 1, ps3vflashc a la 2 y así sucesivamente.

Al ejecutar las herramientas de Graf_chokolo para redimensionar la VFlash, se crea una nueva región 7 que es la que utilizamos para instalar GNU/Linux.

Esta nueva región se corresponde con el dispositivo ps3vflashh y al instalar Red Ribbon podrás ver que tiene dos particiones asociadas a dos dispositivos: ps3vflashh1 que es la de sistema y ps3vflashh2 que es la de la swap.

En cuanto al espacio de GameOS, es normal, ya que según parece reserva para el sistema un porcentaje del espacio disponible.

Por cierto ¿Podrías confirmarme si te funciona la wireless?

Tenía esperanza de que por lo menos funcionara en tu modelo.

Pero también tengo buenas noticias, he conseguido solucionar el problema del apagado y del reinicio para la siguiente versión.

Fácil. Si están en el menú, haces click con el botón derecho encima del programa que quieres añadir y le das a "Añadir al escritorio".

Si no están en el menú. Puedes hacer igualmente el paso anterior y luego editar el acceso directo con el Leafpad, ya que no es más que un fichero de texto simple.

Las herramientas de Graf_chokolo reservaban 40 GB, mi adaptación reservan 8 GB y las Prep tools, que son la adaptación de los del CFW Rebug, permiten diferentes tamaños.

Una pregunta se ha grabado algun video para algun servicio como youtube del todo poderoso en accion para verlo antes y ver si es eficiente y rapido a ver si me lo instalo o es mucho pedir ?

He conseguido crear una particion en la ps3 en el GameOS me indica que quedan 28GB de 55GB hasta aqui todo bien aunque la particion es mas grande que de los 22GB que me ponia que reserva en el post de:

Pero eso me es indiferente por ahora ( luego tal vez tenga problemas de espacio para restaurar el backup del sistema ).

La cuestión es que al iniciar la instalacion desde el Escritorio y seleccionar el idioma en la siguiente pantalla me dice que no se ha encontrado espacio reservado en el disco duro ni ninguna unidad USB conectada y que por lo tanto la instalacion no puede continuar.

Y no se que hacer ya que los comandos de debian me son desconocidos

Muchas gracias r04drunner, por cierto puedes añadir en la proxima version el soporte para videos flash (incluyendo youtube aunque sin soporte para flash 10) con el Gnash; lo he probado con el Linux en la 3.15 y bueno; no es que vaya muy fluido pero se veian bien los videos desde el Firefox.

Podrias enseñarme como instalar un programa desde su codigo fuente ya que hay programas como firefox que no se encuentran en el aptitude o el gestor que viene incluido.
He mirado tutoriales en google pero ninguno me ha sido de utilidad ya que me sale errores, creo porque necesito las dependencias.

Eso ocurre cuando no encuentra el dispositivo /dev/ps3dd, que es el disposititvo asociado al espacio reservado por OtherOS. Deberás repetir el proceso que has seguido para que le lo cree correctamente.

Lo estuve barajando, pero ocupa demasiado espacio en la Live para al final no dar un rendimiento aceptable. La instalación desde Synaptic es bastante sencilla con lo cual añadirlo una vez instalado siguiendo el tutorial del post principal no es complicado.

Podrias enseñarme como instalar un programa desde su codigo fuente ya que hay programas como firefox que no se encuentran en el aptitude o el gestor que viene incluido.
He mirado tutoriales en google pero ninguno me ha sido de utilidad ya que me sale errores, creo porque necesito las dependencias.
Mas que nada quiero instalar firefox.

Red Ribbon ya tiene Firefox instalado: es Iceweasel. Iceweasel es un fork de firefox, es decir una copia exacta de Firefox a la que solamente han cambiado el nombre y el icono por conflictos con la licencia GPL.

Prácticamente todos las aplicaciones que puedas necesitar están en los repositorios.
