HILO de MAME

@poseiido gracias por contestar. En principio no quería ponerme a trastear para cambiar de version, porque no me acuerdo bien de lo que hice al principio con el mame y groovymame, y al final simplemente cambié el exe del groovymame antiguo por el moderno, no se si es asi como se actualiza de version en versión si no quieres perder saves y demás, pero a mi me ha funcionado, saludos!
Pues ya está aquí el MAME 0.211 que viene con muchas novedades y mejoras:

Por cierto, si alguién sabe como emular el microordenador Memotech MTX 512 en el MAME pues estaría bien un pequeño paso a paso para saber como hacer. Es una máquina que no conozco, aunque quería probar la emulación de alguno de los programas que aparecen en el software list, y no encuentro ningún tutorial paso a paso en la red.

This release also includes better support for the China Education Computer Apple II derivatives, along with a preliminary software list. This opens a window to Chinese classroom technology in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Looking away from computer emulation for a moment, Game & Watch preservation keeps progressing, with the addition of Ball (the earliest Game & Watch release) and the panorama screen version of Donkey Kong Jr. The Gaelco/Salter Pro Cycle Tele Cardioline exercise system has been promoted to working, and the Pro Stepper system has been added. System 573 MP3 audio has been greatly improved in this release, and support has been added for more Bally pinball sound boards. ClawGrip added example programs from the V.R. Technologies VT03 software development kit. Gemcrush, a rare brick breaking arcade game, has been added in this release.

Las palancas y botones los detecta joystick, y para otros emus uso joytokey.

Hace algunas versiones que ya me lo detecta sin problemas, pero lo que dice es que ya no es obligatorio pulsar una tecla (no lo he probado aún).
De todos modos, es algo que yo no uso casi nunca.

Como a lo mejor habéis visto en el foro, tengo por ahí una maca en construcción con un PC basuril recogido de la calle (tal cual). El caso es que ya tengo MAME más o menos funcionando con la versión 0.197 (las más recientes dan problemas con RetrOS, puesto que no soportan Windows XP), pero me asaltan una serie de dudas, la mayoría de ellas relacionadas con el monitor, un CRT LaCie ElectronBlue IV de 22 pulgadas conectado por VGA. Las dejo por aquí por no crear un hilo separado:

  • ¿Cómo demonios activo las scanlines? Lo he intentado por activa y por pasiva, pero no hay forma. Ojo, hablo de scanlines en PNG, nada de HSLS. El PC no tiene chicha suficiente para shaders y tampoco creo que fueran una buena opción en un monitor CRT. ¿Me he perdido algún campo del .INI?
  • ¿Cuál sería la resolución más adecuada? De entrada lo tengo a 640 x 480, puesto que los píxeles aparecen mejor definidos así.
  • Tengo la duda eterna del 4:3 y el pixel aspect ratio. ¿Qué sería lo más correcto? ¿Debería escalarlo siempre a 4:3 o lo dejo en el pixel ratio de cada juego aunque no se llene toda la pantalla? (el filtro bilineal está desactivado, por cierto)
  • Fuera del asunto del monitor, ¿dónde estaba la opción para hacer que MAME se salte las pantallas "pelmas" informando de que una ROM puede no funcionar bien o conminándote a pulsar un botón antes de arrancarla? El OK se puede quitar desde la interfaz, pero no veo el resto. ¿Es algún campo del INI?

Todo esto teniendo en cuenta que solo lo quiero para emular juegos muy clásicos en 2D.

Tan pronto como tenga el emu algo pulido, lo siguiente será meterle MaLa en condiciones y a otra cosa.

Creo que puedo ayudarte con un esas dudas.

-Hace años que no uso los .png ya que estoy con hlsl, pero si no me equivoco, en el mame.ini debes buscar el apartado "artwork" y allí setear el nombre del .png que quieres utilizar, por ejemplo "aperture_grille.png" (sin comillas).

- Para quitar las pantallas de espera no creo que se pueda hacer mediante una configuración y necesitas descargar una versión de mame nonag, que se compila ya con esa opción. Aquí en el hilo el compañero insertmorecoins compila una versión nonag que funciona con Windows XP. Deberás descargarla de su web, pero no se si tiene disponible la 0.197.

La descomprimes y en la carpeta ini copias el mame.ini que te adjunto (es un zip, tendrás que descomprimirlo también).

Con eso solucionas las pantallas de inicio y los scanlines. La resolución y el aspect ratio... lo ideal es que cada juego ponga la suya, pero para eso sería mejor usar groovymame y configurarlo para 31khz. Si no quieres liarte, en 640x480 vas bien.
@Ronbin @In_Flames_81 Mil gracias a los dos. Con el nonag me va genial y por fin he logrado arrancar MameUI sin problemas 0_o

Al final y en contra de lo que esperaba he terminado desactivando las scanlines después de estar persiguiéndolas como un loco durante tanto y tanto tiempo. Me había olvidado de lo poco luminosas que eran las pantallas CRT. Tiene sentido en un LCD, pero en un monitor de tubo se come una barbaridad de luz.

Realmente empiezo a plantearme seriamente si haber cogido este monitor para arcade fue una buena decisión teniendo por ahí dos televisores de tubo como Dios manda. Me llamó la atención el poder conectarlo por VGA y olvidarme de todo, pero casi lo veo mejor para juegos de 640*480 tipo Dreamcast o Xbox que para clásicos 2D (y mira que se ven bien, ojo).

En la bios le e dado 2 gigas a la gráfica integrada

Mi duda/pregunta es la siguiente

Estoy utilizando un monitor bastante antiguo tn de 5 ms lcd formato 4:3 al que tengo con resolucion nativa 1600 x 1200 / 75 Hz el cual no se si para MAME es la resolucion y refresco que tengo que poner o tendria que cambiarlo,en ese caso cual seria?

En las opciones gráficas de la tarjeta tengo activado la sincronización vertical para todo,el triple bufer openGL y el filtrado anisotropico x16

Esto estaría bien así o tengo que activar algo mas/desactivar algo?

Lo digo porque aunque sea panel lcd quiero que que la experiencia arcade sea lo mas fiel posible ,utilizo un filtro por bgfx para generar scanlines y bordes curvos que da bastante el pego que tampoco se si es lo mas recomendable poner bgfx o es mejor hlsl

El problema que no se cual es por eso os pregunto ,es que tengo tearing o yo noto algo de tearing, tengo en las opciones de video de mame activado el triple bufer,el vsync y lo de sync refresh o algo asi
Pero por ejemplo en metal slug lo noto sobretodo en la “intro” cuando sale la ametrallora y dispara mientras esta disparando se ve claramente como la pantalla se “corta” luego en juegos como hook tambien,vas avanzando por la pantalla y se va cortando

Pues esas son mis dudas,a ver si podéis echarme una mano a saber cual seria la mejor configuración para el,pc que os comento y si tengo que bajar resolución activar/desactivar algo etc

Tambien estuve mirando de toquetear las opciones avanzadas de video ,el tema del frame skip y todo ese rollo,pero la verdad como ya no sabia lo que tocaba lo deje,quizás en esas casillas se tenga que configurar algo

Con un LCD no hay más vueltas: resolución nativa y fin. Lo contrario te dejará un escalado guarrísimo. El refresco no creo que tenga la menor importancia, puesto que no se puede jugar con él como en un CRT.

El tema del tearing tal vez te lo podrá aclarar algún otro compañero.

@EL PIxXxA Las opciones que tienes activadas para el tearing son las correctas, ahora bien... el modo de video en Mame lo tienes en auto o lo tienes indicado en OPENGL. Como no tengas puesto el modo de vídeo en OPENGL los valores del triple buffer se los va a saltar a la torera. porque puede ser que por defecto te coja el modo de video gdi, d3d en vez de OpenGL.

Ostras pues lo mirare ,eso tengo que editarlo en el .ini verdad?

Correcto donde te pone bgfx tienes que poner opengl.

Los filtros no te los pone porque las scanlines en OPENGL funcionan desde la opciónes de OPENGL del emulador, no funcionan de la forma habitual (al igual que el HLSL solo funciona si tienes puesto el modo de vídeo en d3d).

Aparte hay filtros gráficos para OPENGL que no se suelen compartir con el emulador, que tendrás que buscarlos aparte si es que te interesan.
Alguien si fuese tan amable de pasarme el .cfg de la carpeta ctrlr con la configuración del joystick de xbox one, no soy capaz de lograrlo configurar para jugar KI y KI2 desde el MAME 209, realmente este emulador me supera [+furioso].

Es decir:

lo cambias por:

De lo contrario el mando de XBOX One no te lo cogerá de la forma correcta

Cada versión de MAME tiene unas ROMS diferentes. El 95-99% se mantiene, pero siempre cambian alguna ROM. Pueden poner un chip que faltaba, o que estaba mal dumpeado, o quitarlo...

Te aconsejo que uses clrmamepro y los .dat de esta web:

Con eso puedes construirte siempre el ROMSET que necesites (debe coincidir con la versión del emulador, recuerda).

Las ROMS, eso si, tendrás que buscarlas por ahí. Pero una vez las encuentres, organizarlas es fácil con este método. El 100% de comentarios de "me he bajado la ROM de tal juego y no funciona" se soluciona así.

Gracias por la respuesta. Ayer probe a bajarme la ultima version de mame y no se porque pero probe el metal slug 1 y me iba lentisimo. El ordenador es el siguiente:
Packard bell
Windows 8.1
Intel core i3 4150
Grafica amd radeon R5 235 2gb
1tb hdd
6gb ram ddr3
No es gran cosa pero me emula medio bien hasta naomi y dreamcast, asi que el mame me deberia ir finisimo.
Porque me va lento? Tengo que tocar algo en las opciones del emulador? Se que seran preguntas mil veces respondidas, pero es que nunca jamas me interese por la emulacion, y estoy perdidisimo, pense que seria buscar las roms y casi sin tocar nada que funcionaran medio bien.

Mira a ver si tienes los filtros hlsl activados y quítalos. En equipos medios y bajos, esos filtros asesinan el rendimiento. Por ejemplo, poner curvatura de pantalla, al estilo de las teles de tubo, hace que un juego como el Ghosts and Goublins petardee como un loco en mi equipo.

Elimina todos los .INI que tengas (copialos a otra carpeta por si los vuelves a necesitar), y vuelve a probar. Con un MAME limpio, eso debería dejar de pasar. Los juegos CPS1 van perfectos en un core2, imagina en un i3.

Vale cuandi probe el metal slug elegi una bios europea e iba lentisimo injugable; he probado eligiendo una bios japonesa y mano de santo, sin tocar nada el juego va perfecto. Debo elegir bios japonesa?
Me he descargado los dat de la web que me dijistes, yt al descomprimir tengo 3 carpetas. Esas carpetas donde las pongo junto a las demas carpetas del mame?
Hlsl puede ir en un equipo viejo segun la gráfica.
A mi me va bien con core2 duo, 2GB ram DDR2
y gráfica ati 4870,
y en un pc de mi hermano va fatal el hlsl,
siendo i7 920, 8GB DDR3 y Nvidia GTX 280.

Quizá va mejor en ati/amd el hlsl, con prescale 2.

No debería irle mal... A mí me va perfectamente en el Core 2 Duo E6600 de la mía con una nVidia GT210 (la de gama más baja, ya ves) y Windows 10... Aunque claro, igual la versión de Mame tiene que ver... La mía es una 0.148 ya algo antigua pero perfectamente funcional y en la que van todos los juegos importantes sin problema.
Yo antes de ponerme con esto el otro dia como soy muy cazurro mi idea era buscar en google un recopilatorio que pesara 15 o 20 gb y viniera con 2000 roms o 3000 y fuera instalar y jugar. Pero por mas que busco no encuentro ninguno que sea eso, descargar y ponerse a jugar con miles de roms, asi que me tocara hacerlo todo manualmente.

Tienes que descargarte un programa llamado clrmamepro y meter los .dat en su carpeta "DATS".

Hay muchos tutoriales por internet, no es muy complicado.

No te lo voy a explicar porque seguro que en los tutos encontrarás instrucciones más detalladas, pero en general, el "truco" es darle al programa un directorio "origen" y otro "destino", donde "origen" es donde tienes las ROMS "malas", y "destino" es lo que el programa te creará con las ROMS "expurgadas" y recolocadas.

Hace muchas más cosas, como escanear tu carpeta "destino" quitando lo que esté mal (útil para cuando vas actualizando el ROMSET de versión en versión de MAME), y más cosas.

Hay DATs de muchas cosas (TOSEC, que tiene juegos de ordenador de 8 y 16 bits, no-intro para ROMS de consolas, etc). Incluso yo mismo creo mis .DAT para mi carpeta de fotos (útil para cuando haces una copia de seguridad de tu teléfono y quieres quitar todas las fotos que ya tienes organizadas), y cosas similares. Para eliminar duplicados es una máquina de matar.

En serio, aprende a usarlo y verás como ya no puedes estar sin él ;-)

Publicada la versión 0.212 con numerosas novedades. De esta versión me hace especial ilusión que se haya conseguido emular la Game & Watch de Gold Cliff ya que guardo muy buenos recuerdos de ella. Estan también en esta versión emuladas otras Game & Watch como la de Safebuster y también la de Bomb Sweeper.

¿Las Q&Q está ya emuladas?
@DJ Deu De Bandai hay algunas handheld que están emuladas en el MAME. Estan emuladas Burger Time, Crazy Climber, Dokodemo Dorayaki Doraemon, Frisky Tom, Machine Man, Packri Monster, Pair Match,Tamagotchi, Ultraman Monster Battle, Pengo, Zackman, y ya por último, Zaxxon. Creo que no me dejo ninguna.

@apachusque Que yo sepa emuladores de esas máquinas por ahora no hay. Se puede ver alguna simulación de alguna máquina como la de Penguin Land en páginas como la de Pica-Pic, que puedes probar si aún usas el adobe flash player, pero poco más.
Buenas, soy un negado en esto del pc y he conseguido hacer funcionar la ultima version de mame configurandole un arcade stick. Los pocos juegos que quiero juagr me funcionan, pero tengo un p0roblema y es que al jugar en algunos mas que en otros noto como una linea que pasa por la pantalla de modo horizontal, creo que se llama tearing. Juego en una pantalla de 55" full hd. Alguna manera de solucionar eso en las opciones del emulador? Y parta poner scanlines como se hace? Como digo soy muy negado es decir que si tengo que modificar algun archivo o algo no toco nada. Por el contrario si se puede hacer desde el menu del emulador agradeceria si me indicais como.

En cuanto al "tearing", desde el menu del emulador solo tienes ir a: Configure Options - Video Options - Triple Buffering; Si esta ultima opcion (Triple Buffering) esta en "Off" marcala "ON" y ya deberia desaparecer esa molesta linea (por lo menos a mi me funciona):

En cuanto a las scanlines ni idea, no las uso en la ultima version del emulador... Pero si no estan en el menu de opciones del emulador, deberia estar en el "ini" de la configuracion... pero mejor que pase otro compa para que te explique mejor eso.

@apachusque Que yo sepa emuladores de esas máquinas por ahora no hay. Se puede ver alguna simulación de alguna máquina como la de Penguin Land en páginas como la de Pica-Pic, que puedes probar si aún usas el adobe flash player, pero poco más.


Haberlas, haylas. Lo que no se es si alguien las tendrá ya. Eran emuladores en MSDOS de varias de ellas, pero vete a saber.

Al ver que MAME (bueno, supongo que realmente, la parte MESS) ya emula maquinitas, he tenido un momento de esperanza a ver si aparecen ya en un medio más moderno.

Aún no he tenido tiempo de echar un vistazo a todos los juegos de Marcianitos 80. El apartado 'Recreativas' es lo que llamáis Mame no? Los juegos de Neo Geo y tal

Algún juego recomendado para niños de 2 o 3 años? Aunque sea para jugar 10 minutos
@apachusque Ah, creo que ya sé cuáles dices, pero no son emuladores. ¿Son las que desarrolló un tal David Calandra? Las que conozco son 3 juegos que intentan simular a esas máquinas, eran para MSDOS, y aúnque eran jugables pues aún le faltaban algunas cosas por implementar. Están simuladas Circus Circus, Camelot, y Flying Saucers. En un buscador escribe "handheld remakes simulators" y debieras dar con ellas. Me imagino que con el DOSBox actual funcionarán sin problemas.


@Defcon Norris Con 2 o 3 años creo que aún es pronto para que juegue a videojuegos tradicionales y creo que ya tendrá tiempo para jugar cuando tenga 5 o 6 años. Si eso pues igual le compraría una consola vtech o alguna otra consola educativa con algun programa enfocado a niños de su edad y para que vaya asociando sonidos, colores, palabras, imagenes, etc.

La verdad es que no se si serán esas, pero vamos, eran clavadas a las maquinitas originales.

Imagino que las podríamos llamar simuladores en lugar de emuladores, porque son de una época en la que primaba el resultado por encima de la "cocina" necesaria para llegar a él. Muchos emuladores de la época "simulaban" más que "emulaban", debido a la poca potencia de los PC de entonces. Se ha visto en muchos emuladores que han empezado a ser cada vez más pesados debido a que han empezado a emular realmente (MAME debe haber sufrido algo de esto también, sobre todo en la parte del audio que parece ser la más pesada en la emulación, por ejemplo en el tema samples).

A ver si alguien empieza con ellas pronto. Fueron mis maquinitas de crio, y aunque toqué alguna de Nintendo, Casio y similares, las Q&Q fueron mi "desvirgue" y les tengo un cariño especial.

¿que ordenador hay que comprarse para correr estos juegos arcades? Yo no consigo jugar, ni siquiera a killer instict con retroarch...jajaja..que fuerte (y que depresión.. [+risas] ).
A mi de lucha 1vs1 con el Street Fighter 2 original me sobra, y luce mejor que los polígonos 3D de los 2000 :Ð
