· No es "Class of Heroes 3".

12.9.2013 Thanks for supporting Class of Heroes 2!

All the Class of Heroes 2 product has been shipped, and we're just dealing with a few undeliverables and a couple mis-directed ones, but for all practical purposes we've finished the campaign. Your support was integral to making this Physical PSP product happen at a time when virtually all other publishers in the US have given up on the PSP physical market as dead. So, THANK YOU for making this possible.

It's busy busy here for our next projects. We'll be continuing with Class of Heroes series, and if there's enough support, we'll do the physical+digital PSP game (Vita compatible, of course) offer again. We're even aiming for slightly more elaborate packaging. Look for more information later this month about the next Class of Heroes. We have a teaser ad in the Premiere Issue of RETRO magazing, and then we'll put up more info here about it. By January you should know most of our roadmap for 2014 releases, but licensing for other titles is ongoing, so more can be added for late 2014 or early 2015. We're trying to "rescue" as many as we can before the book closes on PSP releases forever.

Mucho "Thanks" again from all of us, and remember that you can usually get more minute updates on the GAIJINWORKS forum as well as the odd tidbit by following @gaijin4life on Twitter.

He also said it's from a "major publisher", and later brought up Konami and Sony.

vicireland escribió:On the Mystery PSP RPG? No. Aside from the fact that we're actively working on it, and the contract closing process being drawn out just means we should have some English media to share rather than just an announcement when it comes. I'm still very happy to be doing the game. Certain aspects of it are exquisite, and the rest is very good.

There's still a CoH2G dual screen video owed, too. That should be up first. We're also checking with Sony about whether or not a physical would be allowed since the VA is not in the English release.

He's said on twitter that the contract is being finalized, and localization has already begun.

Tengai Makyou/Far East of Eden IV (Front-runner)
Oreshika
Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki
7th Dragon 2020
Sakura Wars 1 & 2
Fate/Extra CCC(yeah right)
Last Ranker

I think it's Tengai Makyou, but hoping for Oreshika.

Just came up for air and wanted to say that we received another contract revision, so hopefully we're close to being able to talk about this game. We already have bits of it running in English, so that's a good sign!

I'll try to stay a little more regular here, it's just really crazy right now with all the games going on.

Vic's last Twitter post mentions this is a more well-known title.

Just so it feels less like I'm being evil by not sharing - it's not any of the Shining games. We're still working on the "mystery" PSP game, have it mostly running (we hit lockups or weirdness due to bits that don't build right and have to request missing source that was overlooked, but overall we have most of the source code now). The contract back and forth has dragged on forever, but both sides are committed to making it happen, so it's just a matter of time before we can share and SHOW something from it.

vicireland escribió:Today, 01:19 AM

Support poll is the way to go. We're making as much physical as there is demand for at release, and that's it. After that, it's digital only. We will be shooting for a physical+digital pack on it, since it's a PSP title. Never guaranteed, but it's what every PSP title should have and we want to keep it up.

Can't really say much else. I was just trying to throw out a little *something* since it's been so long since we've said anything about it.

I think I've got it.
*something* as posted by Vic is actually a clue as in 'some' + 'thing'. As in maybe "Sum" + 'mon' and add to it the thing as in 'Night'. "Summon Night" must be the mystery RPG. And the reason I also think this is the game because Vic had hinted it, by saying "... will be pleased". Doesn't Summon Night play similar to "Arc The Lad" as well as being a Strategy RPG. As in "pleased" implying here the treading familiar ground. And it's also a 'series' that is known in the US, however they were of the Action RPG variety being the only difference in this case.
If I'm on to *something* here, the only question remains, which numbered Summon Night will we get?
Is the proverbial Cat Out of the Bag yet?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summon_Night

Summon Night (サモンナイト Samon Naito?) is a series of role-playing video games (mixed with elements of a visual novel based dating sim.) The series is developed by Felistella (former Flight-Plan), published by Banpresto and with character design by Izuka Takeshi,[1] spanning many different systems including the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. A popular series in Japan, the series had never been released in any other countries until the release of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story for the Game Boy Advance on July 26, 2006 in the United States. Its popularity in Japan has also spawned novels and drama CDs.

Back to the topic at hand; Here's the list of titles from the psp request thread for reference and the titles that can be dismissed:

-----------

We can safely say it's not these:
Dot Defense (not a jrpg)
Gachitora (not a jrpg)
Kenka Bancho (not a jrpg)
Over my Dead Body (already stated it's not this by Vic here)
Shining -series- (already stated it's not this by Vic)
Suikoden -series- (already stated it's not this by Vic here)
Terror of the Stratus (not turn based)
Venus & Braves (already stated it's not this by Vic here)
Zill O'll Infinite Plus (not a well known title even among enthusiasts)

That leaves:
7th Dragon
Conception
Far East of Eden: The Fourth Apocalypse
Final Promise Story
Frontiers Gate
Last Ranker
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinite
Sol Trigger
Summon Night
Valkyria Chronicles 3

Impressive work. I almost feel bad that it's come to this. Almost.

Ok, here are the titles that might be the mystery title sorted by publisher:

------

Banpresto:
Summon Night

Capcom:
Last Ranker

Image Epoch:
Sol Trigger
Final Promise Story

Konami:
Far East of Eden: The Fourth Apocalypse
Frontiers Gate

Sega:
7th Dragon
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinite
Valkyria Chronicles 3

Spike:
Conception

KrownKlown escribió: My question though, is that your goal from now on, or do you plan at some point in the future to get to point where you can make normal physical releases? I don't just mean for this specific game.

Since the push to digital will only continue to grow, I don't see the situation for physical getting better, but worse - rapidly. Most pubs will simply drop physical altogether, and some are at that point already. We'll offer physical as long as we can, but since the trend is going toward physical version obsolesce, I don't think it's worth the time to rebuild a retail channel. That's not to say we wouldn't do one-off distribution deals or something like that, but it's not the main thrust.
