Guitar Hero Metallica es el nuevo juego de Guitar Hero que fue desarrollado por Neversoft y distribuido por Activision, el cual será lanzado el 29 de marzo del 2009 para Norteamérica, y a principios de abril para el resto del mundo, para las consolas PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, XBOX 360 y Wii. El juego se basara en los comienzos de Metallica e irá pasando por toda su historia hasta hoy. Será una más de las extensiones del Guitar Hero dedicados a una sola banda, como lo fue el Guitar Hero Aerosmith.
