Hi-Rez Studios, Inc., a developer of online interactive entertainment software, announced today that it has licensed Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 for a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) currently in development.

The newly founded studio has assembled an impressive team of industry professionals and this agreement supports their commitment to deliver next generation graphics to the MMOG genre.

“We selected the strongest toolset available to accelerate our project”, says Erez Goren, CEO of Hi-Rez Studios. “Unreal Engine 3 technology is allowing our team to rapidly implement new game play elements and deliver stunning high resolution content.”

This agreement combines the talents of an experienced application service provider with the premier game engine provider. “Our development team, experienced designers of online platforms, will provide a robust persistent world architecture and innovative game design. “We're very excited to be working with Hi-Rez Studios.” said Mark Rein, Vice President of Epic Games Inc. “In their previous business the management team at Hi-Rez proved their ability to create innovative software and won many awards doing so. Unreal Engine 3 helps developers deliver outstanding games and we look forward to an innovative online game from this promising new developer.”
