The new big boy of the Honda range, the GoldWing, should come out in 2006 with an integrated airbag! Honda has studied the priciple of an airbag in relation to the most frequently occurring accidents on the road, the head-on collisions. The aim of the airbag is to slow the driver down when (s)he is ejected from the seat, resulting in less serious injuries. An excellent initiative from Honda! We definitely hope though that other novelties on this GoldWing, like the heated seats, arm rests and back support for the passenger, will be more useful than the airbag!
Over time, the GoldWing deserves more and more it's name of 2-wheeled limousine. The price is up to par with its name though, the 2006 version will cost no less than 26500 EUR when it will at your local dealer from December 2005 onwards. The airbagged version will only be released at the end of 2006.
