Bueno, alguien que vive en Japón decía lo siguiente sobre el tema en un foro:
The English translation will differ depending on what term you choose for 'life'. 'Life' can be translated in one of several ways, each term with its own nuance and subtle difference.
*) '人生'(jinsei) means the life, or years spent living, of a human being. This term is rather neutral.
*) '生活' (seikatsu) means your day-to-day livelihood or daily life routine.
*) '命' (inochi) means 'existence' or 'life' as apposed to death. It is used in phrases like 'to save a life' or 'life is precious'. If you wish to say 'Music is life' as in music is your 'existence' or what makes you a living person, then I think this is the best term.
*)'生きがい' (ikigai). You might also use this term. 'Ikigai' is one's purpose for living, what you live for, or what you are all about.
De cualquier modo, no me cuesta nada preguntar en clase y salimos de dudas.
