Square Enix have announced Space Invaders Infinity Gene will hit the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade next month.

No actual date was announced, but they said they will announce it on the game’s official site which has gone live. The site does not contain much more than the Playstation and Xbox related logo’s, the publishers logo’s and the words “the beginning”.

Space Invaders Infinity Gene was previously available for the iPhone.

For some of us this was the beginning of gaming, so feel the nostalgia and wait for the date!

In 2009, a publisher named DTP Entertainment released a fantasy role-playing game named Venetica for the PC, developed by Deck13, the developers of the Ankh games.



The story was based in a sixteenth century-styled world where death is a physical being, and revolves around Necromancers. Venetica’s protagonist is Scarlett, the daughter of Death. While the game was also initially announced for the Xbox 360, we weren’t quite sure who would be bringing it over.

Now, a GameFly listing reveals that Atari are going to be bringing the game over to the console side on January 6th, 2011.

Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada may be the man behind Tekken but that hasn’t stopped him from replying to questions by Soul Calibur fans regarding the possibilities of the next installment of the franchise. While he hasn’t made anything official, Harada-san today has released new, bits of information about the chances of another Soul Calibur game.

Telltale Games have released a teaser video today promoting a new game, and it hints at some interesting things. The game reveal will be coming next week, but there are a few clues as to what it might be.



First, there’s the silhouettes- Tycho from Penny Arcade, Max from Sam & Max, the Heavy from Team Fortress 2, and Strongbad from Homestar Runner. An eclectic mix, but anything with the Heavy and Max gets a thumbs up from me.

There’s also the matter of what they’re holding. It looks an awful lot like playing cards, so we could be getting some sort of Poker game involving these characters. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but it could be a red herring. Perhaps it’ll be something a bit more substantial.

VoodooChief has confirmed via their personal blog, that they have been busy working on a poker table for Mass Media. Home users will be able to use the poker table in their Home personal spaces and best of all if all goes to plan it will be available from Mass Media at the beginning of September.

Yep, you read that right. We have been busy producing a Poker table here at work. Well not a real poker table as we are developers and not carpenters. However this new game is a lot of fun. I am sure most everyone know what poker is and how much fun it can be to play with friends. well that is what we have made.

I got to take part along with a lot of my workmates in a big playtest and videoing session yesterday afternoon. It was to work on some video for the promo of the poker table as well as do some serious testing. What a great way to spend the afternoon. All dolled up like pretty girl (which i most certainly cannot pretend i am in real life!) for the video shoot, and then i got to do some great poker playing.

It was all going really well till my 2 pair were taken by a flush that dropped on the 4th card, ARGH! I hate that Mike guy!. The whole office (or most of it) got to take part and it was a real break from all the work we have been doing lately. A real respite. It is also really nice to actually just play ya own stuff and enjoy it.

Needless to say, Brimstone poker will be out at the beginning of September barring any issues with the full test cycle. I have a picture of us in the Neptune suite playing.

I think everyone will like this item. I have no idea how much it will cost, but it is a piece of scripted furniture. So it gets placed in your personal spaces. (up to two of them, gasp!)

Ubisoft said today it would show XBLA and PSN title Outland for the first time at PAX this week, as well as airing Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, MotionSports, Child of Eden, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, H.A.W.X. 2 and Just Dance 2.

There’s no news on what Outland actually is yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

Attendees will be able to pre-order Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood on-site an receive an exclusive t-shirt. There will also opportunities to fan the game’s Facebook page to win posters. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Actually, it does. If you’re going to the Seattle show, you’ll be able to grab a Just Dance–themed t-shirt for anyone that pre-orders Just Dance 2 ahead of its October release.

Do not say Ubisoft never does anything for you.

Devil May Cry 5 es un juego que, cuando comience su desarrollo, este cambiará bastante en relación a los anteriores. La razón es que, a pesar de que la franquicia cuenta con unos seguidores muy fieles, sus ventas no son especialmente altas, sobre todo fuera de Japón. Por eso mismo, lo más probable es que en el quinto capítulo se incorporen ciertos “toques occidentales” para hacerlo más atractivo para los jugadores americanos y europeos.

Konami have announced their TGS 2010 line-up and interestingly enough Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker has made the cut. Peace Walker was released earlier this year to critical acclaim with many dubbing it one of the best games the PSP has to offer – and it aint far off that mark, but why on earth would it be part of the Konami TGS line-up?

Could a PS3 port of the game to available downloaded via the PSN in the near future?

It could of course just be DLC for Peace Walker PSP.

However this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve heard about the potential of having Peace Walker on PS3.

Back in May Gamepro we’re present at a PSP Peace Walker event where Konami asked questions relating to a potential of a port of PW for PS3. Here’s what PerLee over at Gamepro was asked:

“So after I had done the preview, [Konami] had a Q/A session with us to get our complaints/ideas about the game,” Other than the basics, they asked what we thought about if they released it on PSN for the PS3 as well and had online multiplayer.”

Peace Walker on the PSN would be incredible. This was originally Metal Gear Solid 5 remember. I guess the PSP version will just have to do for now but let’s hope this PSN talk isn’t in vain.

It seems Capcom’s Keiji Inafune has confirmed the existence of Devil May Cry 5, after saying in an interview the next game in the series will have a “western touch” to attract potential UK-US buyers.

Speaking to Spanish website 3DJuegos (via CC), he said the company wanted more western sales for the series.

“Devil May Cry 5 is a game that, when started development, this will change a lot in relation to the above,” said Inafune.

“The reason is that, despite the franchise has some very loyal followers, their sales are not particularly high, especially overseas.”

He went on: “For this reason, it is likely that in the fifth chapter will incorporate certain western touch to make it more attractive to American and European players.”

It’s been rumoured that DMC5 has been in development for a while, with Enslaved studio Ninja Theory handling it.

Studio boss Tameem Antoniades was coy about it when the subject was raised in an interview earlier this year.

“Well, there’s no way I’m gonna confirm or deny if we’ve got anything to do with it,” he told VG247 in Barcelona at a pre-E3 Namco event in May, when asked if the studio was involved with DMC5.

It’s thought the game is not on Capcom’s two-year release schedule.

Best watch for TGS, just in case.

We just got these from Ubisoft UK: three film posters, all spoofing famous movies. But for what?

The movies involved are Jaws, Pulp Fiction and Friday the 13th, only this time known as Chew, Doll Fiction and Saturday the 14th.

Our guess is these might be related to the PSN and XBLA title Outland, despite knowing absolutely nothing about it. We will come this weekend, though, when it’s announced at PAX.

Fans of the Burnout series need not worry that we’ve seen the last of it, with Criterion strongly indicating there will be another game coming soon.

Burnout Paradise, the most recent Burnout game, was released at the beginning of 2008, so we’re due for a sequel. However, Criterion has been busy working on Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, due out in November. Which has led some to wonder what, if any, the future holds for the Burnout franchise.

According to Gaming Union, Matt Webster, a Senior Producer at Criterion, was recently asked to clarify the developer’s position. He said:

You know what? I love this question. When we’re doing Burnout people are always like ‘so guys, when are you going to do Need for Speed?’. And now we’re doing Need for Speed, people are like ‘so what’s going on with Burnout?’.

To answer your question, no, Burnout’s here. Burnout Paradise was so successful for us. It’s written into the DNA of Criterion, we just happen to be doing a Need for Speed game.

Which implies there is a new game on the way without actually confirming it.

I love Burnout Paradise. It, along with Race Driver: Grid, has helped tide me over while I’ve been waiting for Gran Turismo 5 to finally make an appearance. So I’d welcome a new game in the series. Just give me a few months with the aforementioned GT5 first.
