Square Enix is planning an event this January to announce some major titles, according to Famitsu. Originally referred to as the "FABULA NOVA CRYSTALLIS Conference" back in September, the event is now known as the SQUARE ENIX 1st Production Department Premiere. The date has also been changed, from January 11th to the 18th.
The event will take place in the Toho Cinemas in Roppongi and is aimed at Square Enix members. A drawing will be held to determine who can attend, with details to follow on the Square Enix members homepage.
In September, Testuya Nomura told Famitsu magazine that the upcoming January event could cover a number of planned Square Enix titles, including Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3D. Today's Famitsu report reiterated that, noting that the 1st Production team is responsible for Final Fantasy XIII, the Kingdom Hearts series and Dissidia Final Fantasy.
The Square Enix Members Twitter now has 20,000 followers, and Square Enix is going to be celebrating with its next big PSN Game Archives release, Chrono Cross.
Producer Shinji Hashimoto, who manages the Square Enix Members Twitter, announced the Chrono Cross release today, but did not share a download time frame.
Joining Chrono Cross, Square Enix has another surprise on the way to commemorate the 20,000 follower feat. This will be something other than a download game.

* The Standard Edition featuring the award-winning Mortal Kombat game.
* The Kollector’s Edition featuring the award-winning Mortal Kombat game, Sub-Zero and Scorpion figurines, a collectible art book, downloadable content that includes an exclusive Mortal Kombat Klassic costume skin and avatar costumes.
* The Tournament Edition featuring the award-winning Mortal Kombat game, a portable fight stick, and downloadable content that includes an exclusive Mortal Kombat Klassic costume skin and avatar costumes. The number of tournament editions is very limited with only 20,000 copies available in North America.
Mortal Kombat will feature Kratos as a playable character, as well as be in Stereoscopic 3-D exclusively in the PS3 version. The brutal warrior from the acclaimed God of War franchise will have his own customized move set, fatality, and fighting arena, available to all original purchasers when Mortal Kombat hits stores.
Teotl Studios are currently planning to release their debut game, The Ball, on consoles.
In an exclusive interview with GamerZines, Toetl Studios' Sjoerd de Jong spoke of his belief that the first person puzzler would do "really well" on consoles and it would be a "perfect fit" for PSN, XBLA or both.
"We think the game would do really well on a console. We regularly play the game ourselves with an Xbox 360 pad hooked up to the PC and it's a blast with a controller," revealed the project lead.
Inspired by Portal, The Ball involves a single protagonist navigating an ancient maze in Central America utilising a large six-foot ball and hammer gun to interact with the environment by pressing switches, rolling over enemies, destroying barricades and igniting fires.
"We think the game is a perfect fit for the either PSN and/or XBLA, so we are going to work towards getting the game out on at least one of those two."
Unfortunately no time frame for the console release was mentioned.
Toetl Studios' debut game was released in November on PC and earned widespread critical acclaim.
A esto le juntas los multis que me estare dejando por el camino (assasins creed, etc etc) y a ver quien es el listo que elige al mejor juego del año 2011.
Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sega, Alan Pritchard, talked to Game Informer about the system and it's current plans.
"The Dreamcast fans are very devoted. You see on eBay people are still buying the games and system. We actually have a Dreamcast collection coming out soon. We are looking to bring some of the old Dreamcast games to market digitally and packaged. The titles are still to be announced. The Ultimate Genesis Collection did huge numbers on PS3 and 360, so it’s an important part of our business. We’ve already been releasing some Dreamcast games digitally; Crazy Taxi [for one]." Pritchard said.
When asked if there would be another Dreamcast, Pritchard said: "Unless there’s something I don’t know – no one has told me about getting back into the console business."
I'm sure Dreamcast fans will be picking up the collection when it lands, no word on what systems it'll be on (although it's safe to assume the 360 and PS3 will get the game), or when it's coming out.

Recordemos que "alguien" de SEGA dijo que tenía preparado unos 30-40 titulos de Dreamcast para un año cosa así en la store/bazar While rumors of a sequel to the hit mega-action flick starring most of the biggest names in action movies have been circulating for months, we already know that they plan on having a game to release alongside The Expendables 2. While that certainly has us excited at the prospect of insane action with us controlling those big Hollywood names, we don't know any details regarding a release date or characters in the game. All we know at this time is that SEGA, Ubisoft and Activision all seem to be in the running for a licensing deal with even more rumors stating that EA already bowed out because the price was too high.
We can't wait to see what materializes in terms of the actual game, but we just hope the bidding doesn't get too high. We all know that publishers have to cut corners to recover profits sometimes - let's hope that's not the case. Let's also hope that we at least get Jean-Claude Van Damme as an unlockable character at the very least.

A securities analyst apparently had a run in with ex-Capcom developer Keiji Inafune. His meeting Inafune, the first in two years, at Akasaka-mitsuke (note: that’s in Tokyo while Capcom’s headquarters, presumably the area that Inafune lives in is Osaka) where Inafune the two apparently exchanged business cards.
Inafune handed him a new card that with Comcept on it, a new company Inafune is starting post-Capcom.
Honored to receive a new card, the analyst rushed to tweet about it. The analyst doesn’t tweet much so this meeting was probably really significant to him.
Alan Pritchard, Sega West's VP of marketing and sales, has confirmed that the publisher is gearing up to announce a new title from Bayonetta developer Platinum Games.
Sega signed a four game contract with the Japanese studio back in 2008, which resulted in the releases of MadWorld, Infinite Space, Bayonetta and most recently October's Vanquish.
Following the sci-fi shooter's release, Platinum said it would be keen to extend its partnership with Sega, and talks between the two companies appear to have been fruitful.
"We have a further title to announce from Platinum Games..." Pritchard told the latest issue of Game Informer (via SegaBits).
While he didn't drop any hints about the game, Bayonetta 2 would probably be a safe bet. It's definitely not looking like it'll be a MadWorld sequel, as the exec reiterated that the title had not been a commercial success.
"It was a he risk that we really believed in at the time, but the title did not sell well," he said of the Wii exclusive game.
What would like to see next from Sega and Platinum, readers?
Aside from Shadows of the Damned, Shinji Mikami is developing another game with his own studio, Tango Gameworks. Mikami hasn’t said much about the project, but a posted photo of environment designer Eirou Yoshii may have given us a glimpse of it.
Some kind of circular object (maybe a well?) and dead trees?

Those Dark Rings and Crowns of the Dark trademarks may have been red herrings. We just uncovered a trademark filed by Namco Bandai in Europe for Dark Souls. Namco Bandai registered Dark Souls, but skipped the other two potential titles found in Japan.
Dark Souls is either another contender for Project Dark’s official name or a sign that we’re going to see a lot of dark games from Namco Bandai in 2011.
Asada (Cave): Well, right now the XBOX 360 is not selling well at all. I have been thinking a lot about this circumstance. We had a frank conversation with Microsoft. We told them that even if they sell 1,000,000 units in Japan (which they are far from), it is no great achievement. It is just normal. If they don’t do better, it may not be feasible to develop for their system.
Maruyama (G.rev): That’s aiming a bit too high? Haven’t they finally begun to sell a lot of systems?
Famitsu 360: I agree with Asada-san. Microsoft better start selling more systems.
Chatani (Gulti): We have already prepared development for the PS3, we are just in talks with a publisher now.
Horii (M2): The PS3 is not a difficult system to develop for. We can shift our efforts to the PS3 with ease. At least that is my impression.
Maruyama (G.rev): We are also focusing our efforts onto the PS3. I don’t think it will be long, now.
Famitsu 360: This conversation hurts our ears.

After God of War, Sly, Prince of Persia, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, as you read on the lists of retailer Amazon , it seems HD is coming in a collection for Tomb Raider, which should include Tomb: Raider Legend (PS2, 2006), Tomb Raider: Anniversary (PS2, 2007) and Tomb Raider: Underworld (PS3). Among other things, with the first-person shooter Battlefield 3 will win back the men from the publisher, Electronic Arts, the shooter crown from Activision. The latter publisher has made recently with the release of Call of Duty Black Ops for jingling cash registers and thus the Call of Duty franchise strengthened. Whether Battlefield 3 will also score points with a record-breaking sales, of course, remains to be seen. It will take several months to get the game from the developer Dice in the trade. When to expect Battlefield 3, which has given the EA boss recently revealed.
John Riccitiello, CEO of his label publisher Electronic Arts, told the English-language website industrygamers.com the planned release date of Battlefield 3 betrayed. Accordingly, the new first-person shooter set in the second half of 2011 was as follows: "We have some third-party games in the form of Crysis 2 and Bullet Storm, our big focus is then on Battlefield 3 in the second half." said John Riccitiello said at the end of the article. In it, the EA boss goes among other things again on the project that is Call of Duty franchise of shooter throne join.
Already in early December was John Riccitiello announced that they Battlefield and Medal of Honor series would use the it. Early 2011. No later than at the Game Developer Conference 2011 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, where Kenny Magnusson from Dice a technology panel to Battlefield 3 of the Frostbite Engine 2 hold and will likely first screen shots and moving images of Battlefield 3, the public get to.
Less than 15 hours to go before a new title is announced, apparently.
The official Japanese website of D3Publisher have launched a countdown website which has the text “New Title coming soon” and a countdown timer leading to the new game announcement.
Right now, it’s just over 15 hours to go before the timer hits zero and the game is announced.
In case anyone is wondering, D3 has released games like Dark Sector and Earth Defense Force for the HD consoles, along with making a plethora of small titles for handhelds and PC which included the hugely popular Puzzle Quest.
We’re curious as to what this new game might be but we want to see a new Dark Sector game being announced.

"Tomb Raider: Anniversary forma con Tomb Raider: Legend (2006) y Tomb Raider: Underworld una trilogía basada en la destrucción de Natla y el rescate de Amelia, madre de Lara".
Listado en Amazon, pero no está confirmado, aunq tiene muchas posibilidades.... lástima q no reediten con gráficos mejorados los TR 1 y 2, eso sí sería una buena noticia.
Continuing with the trilogy packs that have been hitting the PlayStation 3 this year, it turns out it will be Lara Crofts turn next.
Karl Stewart, Global Brand Director for Crystal Dynamics confirmed in a tweet that the pack is official:
“Yes, it’s official. #TombRaider PS3 ‘Trilogy’ pack coming in the new year. Full details next week. Watch this space.”
It appears that the Blu-ray will include Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary and Underworld, with the first two getting an HD makeover. With the reboot of Tomb Raider announced not so long ago, it seems we can expect a double – sorry, quadruple – helping of Miss Croft on PlayStation 3 next year.
