.This SSD enclosure does not have a great design and is not very sturdy, but it has one feature that I needed - it will fit an SSD with a factory installed heat sink, where others would not. I had a Samsung 980PRO with a factory heat sink and needed an enclosure that would work with it. It comes with a couple of heat sinks and silicone bands to hold them in place - I did not use these. The enclosure is a thin plastic, translucent case which is not going to help much with heat dissipation, but it has enough clearance for an SSD with a heat sink. It has a spring loaded hold down device that keeps the SSD in place after it is inserted in the connector. I did have some issues with the fit on this part and used an exacto knife to remove some little raised areas on the hold down to allow it to fit better with the drive (shown in the photo with the yellow arrows.) The board that has the connector attached has holes in it where pegs (shown in the photo inside the yellow boxes) on the spring loaded hold down device fit. This allows it to be located in the position for the size of the SSD you are using. If you center up the spring loaded hold down with it inserted in the notch on the SSD, you can simply push it down into place, it is not super secure, but it works. Snap the enclosure case shut and you have an external SSD. The advertised speed is 10 Gb/s, but as is typical it was not quite that fast. The enclosure is overpriced for what it is and in the short amounts of time I have had it connected, it will probably get pretty hot. I think I might be inclined to open the case if I were using it for extended periods, as the factory heat sink on the SSD would probably be more effective that way.
