Well guys and gals I found a solution to my issue of the error 80080005. It stems from corrupted dll files mainly WUAUCLT1.DLL, WUAUENG1.DLL, WUAUSERV.DLL, CDM.DLL, WUAPI.DLL,WUPS.DLL,WUCLTUI.DLL, AND IUENGINE.DLL. This solution I found under Google search.microsoft. public.windowsupdate. I do not want to take credit for it, but I did not do everything that was done here. I just ran cclean, a free program, which did nothing for my problem, but clean up over 50 unattached dlls. Of course rebooted and tried to do an update. same error. reloaded all the .dll files (mentioned above), which was probably not necessary if I had followed their example,tried an update and got the update site and found 28 updates. Tried to download updates, but seemed to hang,over 15 minutes, stopped download and decided before I went any further to backup computer. No restore points had been created. Vista ultimate, my version did not automatically set check points like xp did. You have to turn this on. Set to automatic create check points, and restarted windows updater. The first thing it did was to create check point and start down loading. almost every update got a check point. Which means guys and gals dont blame upddates for hoseing your computer with vista. Backup,Backup,Backup.
