Problema montar unidad CD/DVD en Ubuntu Feisty

Pues eso, hace unos dias que llevo probando el Ubuntu Feisty, mi primer Linux y tengo un problema bastante gordo. Cuando intento acceder a mi grabadora LG pues como que no me deja, me sale este mensaje:

A ver si me podeis ayudar que veo que todo me funciona menos este "detallito" que es muy importante.

PD: He probado a tocar el boot de la BIOS pero nada [mamaaaaa]

No me sale por ningun lado DVD, CD, HDD, HDB... a lo mejor lo estoy haciendo mal.

Curioso, bueno, hagamos una prueba a ver si es lo que yo me sospecho..
Ponte en un terminal como root:
$ sudo su

Comprueba que existe el directorio /media/cdrom0:
$ ls /media

Si no existiese lo creas:
$ mkdir /media/cdrom0

Introduce un CD-ROM en la unidad lectora.

Ahora trata de montar el CD así:
$ mount /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0

Osi no así:
$ mount /dev/scd1 /media/cdrom0

Ahora comprueba si en /media/cdrom0 está el contenido del CD:
$ ls /media/cdrom0

Para desmontarlo sería:
$ umount /dev/scdx
(x será 0 ó 1)

Si te funciona esto es buena señal, luego ya verremos como hacer que se haga automáticamente cuando insertes los CDs.

Bueno es logico quen o te dejase montar ya que /dev/scd no existe en tu equipo.
Dime cuántos discos duros tienes en tu equipo y cuántas particiones tiene cada uno, y a ser posible si son primarias o lógicas, eso ayudará mucho.
Ahora mismo te respondo desde Windows Vista ... [nop] :-( porque toqueteando se me ha jodido el Linux y el Windows XP.

Tengo dos discos duros uno de 200 gigas con el win XP y otro de 40 gigas con Linux. El único que tiene particion es el de Linux, tiene la que te hace en la instalacion, el swap-linux ese.

Cuando inicio con Windows XP me dice que el archivo system tiene un error y que repare con el CD de instalacion pero este no me deja reparar...

Supongo que cuando has escrito desde Vista sería desde otro equipo porque si no.. ¿En qué disco lo tienes instalado?
Veo que según tu fstab /dev/hdb5 es tu partición de intercambio 'swap', por lo tanto podría ser que /dev/hdb2 sea tu unidad de DVD, repite lo que te dije de montar con mount en el mensaje anterior pero en lugar de /dev/scd0 usa /dev/sdb2 a ver si acertamos.

Lo único que de momento puedo decirte es que pruebes otras distribuciones a ver si te funcionan..

Dvd primero, Floopy, los discos duros?...
