Retro City Rampage...

Surprise! Retro City Rampage: DX is out now for PSP, and it's FREE for all PS4, PS3 & PS Vita owners! This makes it a momentous 4X Cross Buy !

Surprise, again! Due to the overwhelming requests, the PS4 retail version is being re-released, with brand new cover and disc art! The first 3,000 copies of this new version are individually numbered, and include a PSP manual and retail display set, commemorating the new PSP version.

Pre-orders open this friday at 10am PT.

I'll also be streaming the PSP version and doing a Q&A on Twitch Friday at 1pm PT. Don't miss it!

PSP, WHAT?!

The PSP port surprisingly dates back to '09. It was shelved in favor of the PS Vita version, but after the success of the PS4, PS Vita and MS-DOS retail releases, the dream of having the game on UMD suddenly seemed viable. I started finishing it up as a side project, but unfortunately, UMD production halted without warning and made that impossible.

Despite the news, I decided to release it anyway; digitally, for free to owners of the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita versions. Plus, UMD or not, it's still getting a special PSP retail display set, included with the first 3,000 copies of the new PS4 Retail Version! In addition to those, you can download the UMD disc label digitally, here ( http://vblank.com/files/rcrdx_psp_umd_label.pdf ), and see what could've been.

The PSP was one of the first platforms I worked on after entering the industry, and RCR:DX's PSP version is my opportunity to give it a nice send off. The handheld will always hold a place in my heart, both as a gamer and as a developer.

With UMD production discontinued and the PS Store on PSP closed, Retro City Rampage: DX will likely mark the final PSP game ever released, but it can still be downloaded onto your PSP via your download list, or via USB using your PS3 or PC.

RETAIL MOVING FORWARD, A WIN-WIN

Retro City Rampage's 2014 PS4 retail version was an incredible success, but unfortunately many of you missed it! So, due to the overwhelming requests, it's being re-released!

This re-release boasts brand new cover art, disc art and a manual, easily distinguishing it from the original. Owners of the 2014 copy can rest easy, knowing it remains as rare as it always was.

This time around, it will have an open print run to ensure that fans won't miss their chance again, for foreseeable future. To reward the dedicated fans and collectors who pre-order it right away though, the first 3,000 copies boast a gold cover variant and special bonuses!

Retro City Rampage's cross platform conquest reaches MS-DOS and Linux today – both digitally and physically.

PC+MAC owners on Steam, GOG, Humble Store and developer direct get the Linux and MS-DOS versions for free, along with a prototype Windows 3.1 version.

The MS-DOS version is also available physically in a boxed collector's edition on 3.5” floppy disk.

RUNDOWN

• RCR is out now for Linux + MS-DOS

• Also includes bonus prototype Windows 3.1 version

• It's a free digital update for PC + MAC owners

• Steam, GOG, Humble Store and developer direct

• Steam / GOG / Humble Store / developer direct now include:

• PC + MAC + LINUX + MS-DOS (plus Windows 3.1 + NES prototypes)

• It's also available physically, here:

• Collector's Box ($39.99) - disk, cloth map, red decoder glasses, manual & Steam key.

• Floppy Disk ($14.99) – a side order of 3.5” floppy & Steam Key.

THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION

Titled 'Retro City Rampage: 486', the MS-DOS version was crammed to fit onto a single 1.44MB floppy disk and run on 486 PCs from over two decades ago. It also runs on modern PCs via DOSBox, or when powered up with an MS-DOS bootable USB drive or CD/DVD. It supports the Gravis Game Pad and other classic MIDI port Joysticks and rocks your PC Speaker.

The limited edition box includes the MS-DOS version on 3.5" Floppy Disk and digital downloads for PC, MAC, LINUX, and MS-DOS, along with a bonus Windows 3.1 prototype.

dallow_bg escribió:(Yesterday, 09:03 PM)If anyone's curious about how the re-release of Retro City Rampage DX on PS4 is going I kept some stats. I didn't record the exact number after 2 mins though, but it was in that range.

Start - 3000 in stock
2m - 2600-'ish'
15m - 2416
30m - 2390
1h - 2157
2h - 1972
3h - 1885

**EDIT**
4h15m - 1803
5h - 1757

I had doubted one of the LRG guys' prediction that it would sell under 3,000 of the "open orders version" after the initial "limited" 3,000 sold, but maybe he was right.
