No puedo cambiar resolución de pantalla en debian

no puedo cambiar resolución de pantalla

Gestor de escritorio es ubuntu
Distro Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 64-bit
Grafica Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.5, 256 bits)

El comando xrandr sólo me da para 1024 x 768 y la mia es 1920 1080

Siquiendo este tutorial http://bit.ly/2qUrNbf al crear el xorg.conf i reiniciar me quede sin X al eliminarlo me volvierón las Xs

A mi me paso algo parecido y era problema del EDID del monitor que se había dañado.

Tienes dos opciones para tratar de solucionarlo si es problema del EDID:

- Una de ella es tratar de conseguir el EDID de tu monitor (o alguno genérico) para posteriormente cargarlo al arranque del sistema y este pueda detectar correctamente la resolución de tu monitor.

- La segunda opción es tratar de reparar el EDID del monitor, esta es la mejor opción, ya el cambio es permanente y no tienes que estar configurando nada en el arranque del sistema como la anterior solución (te dejo el siguiente vídeo con el cual pude reparar el EDID).

tengo en la misma maquina un win 10 y la resolución se ve perfecta 1920x1080. No es problema de monitor! mi debian 8.8

Que se vea bien en otro sistema operativo no quiere decir que no este dañado el EDID, en mi caso se veían bien en Windows y Mac OS, pero en Debian no me dejaba cambiar la resolución, me lleve un día entero en encontrar una solución porque son muy pocas personas a las que les presenta el fallo del EDID.

antes de probar configuraciones en xorg puedes probar via xrandr

En caso satisfactorio deberías de ver algo en el monitor.

Una vez todo ok, puedes añadir la configuracion al fichero xorg. Los pasos seguidos son los de la wiki de arch, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xrandr pero debería de funcionarte igualmente.
A juzgar por tu log de Xorg, te está usando el driver fbdev en lugar del de intel, lo que explicaría que solo te permita elegir una resolución tan básica, una de las más compatibles.

@Jankusanagi como puedo añadir el drive correcto?
Si es un equipo muy reciente puede que Debian no reconozca correctamente el hardware por el kernel viejo que trae, intenta instalar un kernel mas reciente desde los repositorios backports.

Me compre un ordenador con un disco duro SSD con partición GPT en Windows 10 y UEFI y yo no tenia la mas remota idea de que el UEFI lo ponía Microsoft porque no quiere otro sistema operativo en sus maquinas con windows instalado. Bueno trasteando en la (bios) UEFI tuve que quitar las calves y deshabilitar el “arranque seguro” aún así no podía instalar el debian 8 LTS y me baje el debian 8.8 y me fue de maravilla.
Ahora tengo miedo de instalar el último kernel ya que la comunidad debianita dice que el debian 9 que saldrá pronto de momento no soportara el UEFI
Como puedo estar seguro que sera compatible con mi bios/UEFI?

Sobre uefi no hay problema, eso se soluciona instalando refind.

Hice el "upgrade kernel" añadiendo al sources.list
deb http://mirror.one.com/debian/ jessie-backports main contrib non-free

apt-get update

me instalo el kernel Linux 4.9.0-0.bpo.3-amd64 pero cuando carga me quedo con un pantallazo y de ahí no sale. Tengo que apagar físicamente del ordenador y al reiniciar tengo que elegir el Kernel Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 para entrar en debian

Tener deshabilitado el Secure Boot puede tener que ver con el kernel Linux 4.9.0-0.bpo.3-amd64

no deberia, activar el secure boot lo unico que hace es impedir la ejecucion de codigo no firmado y certificado por el fabricante
