I played a game up until day 7 last night. Dogs came before we got the base "ready" but I survived and we have it ready for night 7 for our next session. Mocap zombies are cool, they are a little harder to head shot mostly because you aren't used to their movements, not because they are hard. I can't wait for the female zombies to be redone and get mocap working on the cops, spiders and females. It makes you want more because it is so much better than the old stuff.
Characters look so much better now with UMA2 running. We still have a lot of materials to fix to get everything taking full advantage of unity 5, but this is a huge step forward. A13 is already cool and this is just a small part of it.
Now a really cool thing: We might have talked about it, but now its official. The new harvest system is going to be such a HUGE improvement. Here's why. We will have a standard harvest event, say you bash an air conditioner with a sledgehammer, you will get some scrap metal. But if you use a wrench to harvest it, you'll get short metal pipes, a compressor, some scrap cables and a radiator. You can destroy a tv with a stone axe and get scrap metal easily, but imagine taking a screwdriver to it and getting a circuit board, an lcd screen, wiring and scrap metal? In other words, yes we're losing redundant things like coal, gunpowder charges, and nitrate but we're adding so much more.
Recipes will require more complex parts that require you to disassemble and properly scrap stuff. We're really excited about this new change to a true Macguyver experience. The Fred Sandford simulator will be fully operational by A14 I suspect Take a stone axe to a dead animal and you'll get meat fragments and a few hides. Use a bone knife and get venison steaks, several hides, and bones. So using the right tool for the job will finally be a reality and will benefit people.
