El directo: Summer Game Fest 2021 promete un evento de 2 horas con una docena de primicias

El primer gran plato de la semana ya está aquí. Se trata del Summer Game Fest 2021, un evento dirigido por Geoff Keighley cuya emisión arrancará hoy a las 20:00 hora peninsular española. ¿Dónde se podrá ver? En YouTube y Twitch ¿Qué podemos esperar? Una transmisión de dos horas durante las cuales se mostrarán más de 30 juegos, incluyendo una docena de primicias. La gala también contará con la interpretación musical de Japanese Breakfast, Weezer y Sonic Symphony y la presencia de Jeff Goldblum y Giancarlo Esposito.

El Summer Game Fest 2021 llega a su día clave controlando muy bien la información sobre el contenido. Oficialmente sabemos que durante la gala se presentará el nuevo juego de 2K y Gearbox Software, que posiblemente será Wonderlands (un spin-off de Borderlands), se anunciará un juego de Koch Media y se echará un primer vistazo al personaje de Cheryl Williams en Evil Dead: The Game. También se esperan anuncios de Activision, que revelará el contenido de la nueva temporada de Call of Duty, y novedades sobre Among Us.

Más allá de eso, rumores, y el que más fuerte suena atañe a Elden Ring de FromSoftware (Dark Souls), un juego desaparecido en combate desde su presentación en 2019. ¿Cómo veremos el juego? Después de tanto tiempo esperando los jugadores se merecen un generoso gameplay e incluso una ventana de lanzamiento.


Siguiendo con la especulación y en base a las compañías que apoyan el Summer Game Fest, quizás Blizzard Entertainment podría haber encontrado en el evento un buen lugar para poner fecha a Diablo II: Resurrected o Diablo Immortal, mientras que DotEmu tal vez aprovecha la ocaisón para hablar de Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. Otros editores que han colocado su logo en la web oficial del Summer Game Fest son Sega, PlayStation (¿Uncharted para PC?), Epic Games, Riot Games y Steam entre otros.

Por otro lado, compañías que también apoyan la iniciativa de Geoff Keighley como Square Enix, Xbox y Ubisoft, tienen su propio evento en los próximos días, así que difícilmente cederán grandes anuncios. Sin embargo… nunca se sabe. Al igual que The Game Awards, el Summer Game Fest es un evento que reúne a mucha gente de todo el mundo, así que supone una plataforma muy golosa para anunciar o mostrar cosas.
Del vendehumos de Geoff poco me creo ya, teniendo en cuenta lo soorífero de los Game Awards... Me veré un resumen con las honrosas excepciones que se presenten hoy y ya.

Salt and Sanctuary 2. Dios mío, me da algo. Qué maravilla. Visualmente es fiel pero mejorado, unos diseños muy chulos. El uno era tremendo, de los mejores souls indies (si no el mejor). Este cae el día uno.
