Sound Blaster Audigy 2 - Connecting to Speakers Systems and External Devices
Analog 5.1/6.1 Speaker System
If you have an analog 5.1 or 6.1 speaker system such as the Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 or Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 speakers, connect the speakers from the Front Line-In, Rear Line-In, Center/Subwoofer In (5.1) or Center/Rear Center/Subwoofer In (6.1) to jacks labeled Line_Out 1 (Front Line-Out), Line-Out 2 (Rear Line-Out) and Line-Out 3 (Front Center/Rear Center/Subwoofer).
Analog 4.1 Speaker System
If you have an analog 4.1 speaker system such as the Creative Inspire 1600, connect the speakers to the jacks labeled Line_Out 1 (Front Line-Out), Line-Out 2 (Rear Line-Out). The Line-Out 3 is not utilized.
Analog 2/2.1 Speaker System
If you have an analog stereo speaker system such as the Creative Inspire 2700, connect the speakers to the Line_Out 1 (Front Line-Out). Line-Out 2 (Rear Line-Out) and Line-Out 3 are not utilized.
Digital Speaker System
If you have a digital speaker system such as the Creative Inspire 5700, or SoundWorks Digital (2.1) speaker, connect from the Digital Audio In to the Digital Out on the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card.
Note: DVD-Audio cannot be played back via digital speakers.
S/PDIF Digital Inputs
If your receiver has a Dolby Digital SPDIF-In, connect it to the Digital Out jack on the sound card with a 3.5mm (mono or stereo) to RCA adaptor.
Note: DVD-Audio cannot be played back via digital speakers.
Discrete Analog Inputs
If your receiver has discrete Line-In jacks for Front Right, Front Left, Rear Right, Rear Left, Center, and Subwoofer:
- Connect Front Right and Front Left to the Line-Out 1 on the sound card with a 3.5mm (stereo) to RCA "Y" adaptor cable
- Connect Rear Right and Rear Left to the Line-Out 2 jack with another 3.5mm (stereo) to RCA "Y" adaptor cable
- connect the Center/Subwoofer In to the Line-Out 3 on the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card, with a 3rd 3.5mm (4-pole or stereo) to RCA "Y" adaptor cable.
- Connect the white RCA plug to the Center input and Red RCA plug to the Subwoofer input on the receiver.
