Tienes razón, le ofrece un sentido más adecuado

PD: Literalmente way significa camino. En español, uno de sus significados es "Adecuación al fin que se persigue".

Creo que camino sería su significado literal. Aún así, creo que es acertado traducirlo como dices.

También queda muy bien como "la única solución".
