There appears to possibly be a new firmware/hardware revision for the LiteOn drive that was originally posted on these German forums.
So far, it is just speculation at this point. It appears the user is claiming the key's are coming back all 00's. We are unsure if it is user error, or a new protection. Any users with this revision please email iriez at xbins dot org with any information. If it truely is new protection, we will need to get our hands on it! Donors will be taken care of!

Parece posiblemente haber una nuevo firmware / hardware para el LiteOn esto fue originalmente publicado en foros Alemanes.
Hasta el momento, sólo es especulación. Al parecer, el usuario que saca la key le están saliendo 00's. No estamos seguros si es error del usuario, o una nueva protección. Los usuarios con esta revisión, por favor manden correo electrónico iriez en xbins.org con toda la información. Si realmente es una nueva protección, tendremos que probar. Se tendrá cuidado con los donantes.

Se supone que puedes encontrar 83850c en cualquier versión que compres. De momento no se pueden detectar por las fechas de fabricación ya que puede ser un 74850c o 83850c solo la orientación que si es fabricación a partir de Marzo 2009 te puede tocar.

LiteOn 83850c Solution

The LiteOn revision 83850c that has been mainly coming out of repair centers in europe has been fully dumped. More details will come as the firmware is fully decrypted, but at the very worst we have a work-around if all known backdoors are disabled. A solution for this model will NOT be released to public until this version becomes mainstream. E.g. is being shipped commercially with new xbox360's.

IXtreme fw for Liteon 83850c drives!
Happy third anniversary for the xbox360 fw and despite all attempts we are still here, flashing fw, after several ban waves and several drives including the mighty LITEON we have triumphed! It is a testiment to all involved on how far we have come and the massive teamwork it has required. Thanks go to all involved and here's to the next three years!
At the moment the only way to get your key data is through the foundmy.com method. At this time we have no alternative solution. Props to foundmy for providing a solution. Team HyperX will keep working to find a alternative solution!
Please note that in order to mod the current liteon you must retrive the key data from the drive. The only solution to that at the moment is here at foundmy.com
It appears Team HyperX is atleast working on a solution. Lets hope for the best, but for the moment there is only one method. We have many confirmed reports of successful purchases from foundmy and have not seen any issues relating to the processing of key's.
It is currently recommended by THX to NOT cross spoof between 7x and 8x LiteOn (rev1/rev2) drives!
A version of JungleFlasher will be released in the next 24 hours to support the new ixtreme.
