Spencer: nuestra atención se centrara en Xbox y fuera de la consola

Last year at E3, Microsoft had arguably the best showing as they brought forward a myriad of game announcements and revealed backwards compatibility for Xbox One. It's going to be tough for the firm to match what they did last year at E3, but they seem to have some surprises cooked up.

At E3 2016, we'll sure find out more about Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2 and Crackdown 3, all of which are expected to debut before the end of the year. Perhaps we'll even find out a release date for Scalebound, but then again, that could be saved for Microsoft's Gamescom event. Phil Spencer has the word for what's ahead.

"In the near term, our focus is on the Xbox console. We’re going to have a nice E3. The next focus is how we come to desktop. I’ll call it that. A lot of our franchises map better to desktop. A lot of our players play on both console and desktop. So let’s go after that and see what issues we run into, like control or voice communication or cross-buy, things we’re trying to enable. Let’s solve one big issue first and then look at the next wave of touch in mobile as a place we can go," Spencer told VB.

This year's show should be a very interesting one from the standpoint of what each console publisher has going on. Sony is getting ready to unveil a new VR platform, PS VR, while Nintendo is getting ready to reveal more information about its new console, codenamed Nintendo NX.

You could say Microsoft has been keeping things fresh with their approach to its games lately. The concept of bringing Xbox One games to PC has been a very exciting one for players on both platforms, but who knows what the long-term plan at Microsoft looks like.

"Long-term strategy clearly rolls out to any place that somebody wants to play. We’re just taking a focus now on console to desktop and then moving out from there," Spencer said.

E3 2016 will take place from June 14 through June 16. Press conferences will begin the Sunday before with showings from EA and Bethesda Softworks. Presumably, Microsoft, Sony and Ubisoft will take the stage Monday, and Nintendo will have news on Tuesday. It should be yet another great E3.
