Hola. Os cuento mi problema: tengo un ordenador equipado con una asus m3n78-vm con windows 7 ultimate x64 con 4 gb de ram conectado a una tv lg 32lh2000 por hdmi pero no se escucha nada por los altavoces de la tv. Problema de windows creo que no es ya que la grafica integrada nvidia geforce 8200 tiene instalado su ultimo driver y en windows veo como se mueve la barrita verde del audio de windows asi que el problema puede estar en el cable (aparentemente está bien) o en la tv. ¿A qué se debe que no se escuche nada por hdmi? :-?
Necesitas conectar la gráfica a la tarjeta de sonido.
Las nvidia, a diferencia de las ati, no sacan el audio solas por hdmi, necesitan de una tarjeta adicional.

Te confundes de tarjeta gráfica, ésta está integrada en la placa base por lo tanto está conectada a la tarjeta de sonido. Salu2.
Disculpa, no había leído bien lo de que está integrada. Esto de enchufar el pc a la tele y sentarse en el sofá, tienes sus desventajas...
Además del driver de vídeo de nvidia, has instalado también el driver específico del audio hdmi?

Descargado e instalado el driver del audio hdmi y sigue sin haber audio por la tv. Esperando más respuestas.
En las propiedades de los dispositivos de sonido, en el panel de control, te aparece el sonido del hdmi y está predeterminado?

Si, todo está correcto, windows saca el audio por hdmi pero al llegar a la tv no se escucha.
He visto en anadtech una persona con el mismo problema y que lo solucionó al final.
Te pego la parrafada en inglés. Si tienes alguna duda de la traducción, nos comentas.

What the Asus technician told me is that the HDMI cable has to be the only active audio/video connection during audio driver installation. So he had me do the following:

--- uninstall the Nvidia and VIA audio drivers
--- unplug the analog audio cable
--- (as above) select 1280 x 720 resolution, turn the computer off, plug the HDMI cable at both ends, turn the TV on and select the proper HDMI input
--- restart the computer

Then, with HDMI active, install the NVidia HD Audio driver, restart and then install the VIA HD Audio driver.

At that point, there is still no audio through HDMI. To enable it, I must go into Control Panel / Sounds, select the Audio tab and from the pull-down window chose "NVidia HD Audio". Please note that when I am not using the HDMI/TV, but the DVI/LCD monitor, this option is not available.

So, to my regular routine to get a movie playing on the TV screen, I must add the previous step before launching the movie. And...Yes! audio now works through the HDMI cable.

A couple more observations:

--- After installing the NVidia HD Audio driver, but before installing the VIA HD Audio driver, HDMI audio works automatically. The installation of the VIA driver disables it. That's why it's necessary to go into Control Panel to select the NVidia HD Audio driver when using the HDMI connection

--- The VIA HDeck configuration panel is confusing regarding SPDIF and HDMI. You have to click on the little green triangle for unseen options As I'm not using a SPDIF cable, I have disabled SPDIF and HDMI in the VIA configuration panel. I understand the SPDIF pane in the VIA configuration panel is used to send (or not) the HDMI signal into the SPDIF cable. I will have to experiment with this when I get a discrete video card and connect a SPDIF cable from the motherboard to the videocard to send audio through the card's HDMI output.

--- People who have the motherboard connected only to a TV set (no DVI/monitor) through HDMI are most likely having no problem, as all their driver setup has already been made while an active HDMI connection was present. That might explain why there are people who report no problem with HDMI audio. The problem arises when one has installed audio drivers while only the DVI video and analog audio connection were in use. Any attempt to subsequently get audio through HDMI is doomed.

That's it. I hope it helps others with the same problem.

--- Desinstalar el Nvidia y VIA controladores de audio
--- Desconecte el cable de audio analógico
--- (Como arriba) seleccionar 1280 x 720 de resolución, apagar el ordenador, conecte el cable HDMI en ambos extremos, apague el televisor y seleccione la correcta entrada HDMI
--- Reiniciar el equipo

Nada, sigue sin haber audio. ¿Puede un cable hdmi estropearse de tal forma que deje de transmitir el audio? ¿O tal vez sea los hdmi de la tv? Es muy raro esto.
Pues sí que es raro.
Prueba con otro cable, porque más de lo que le has hecho, no se me ocurre nada...

Es el único cable hdmi que tengo, tendré que comprar otro. Mi placa base cuenta también con una salida optica. ¿hay alguna diferencia entre el audio por hdmi y el audio por optico? De todas formas cuando compre el otro cable hdmi comprare tambien un cable optico. Salu2.

Si tienes un medidor de corriente (multímetro), comprueba que haya continuidad entre los cables de audio, y si tu multímetro tiene función de generador de BF, conéctalo a los cables de audio. Deberás oir el sonido a través de los altavoces de la TV
