Anuncios PS3 - rumores -

Alice: Madness Returns could well be the name of American McGee's upcoming EA sequel.

That's if an new EA trademark application at the United States Patent and Trademark Office is anything to go by - which it usually is.

We brought you news that developer Spicy Horse and EA have reunited for the next chapter in American McGee's Alice back in February last year.

The original game is set in a considerably more disturbing rendition of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

If you want to read the influences behind the story for Alice 2, we reported on it all the way back in April.

Be careful though because by "influences" we mean some heavy concepts and philosophy. There's an actual thesis in there.

Read the original American McGee's Alice review for the proper lowdown.

FIFA 11 could be the most authentic football sim to date thanks to new systems, which create a multiptude of players models and subtle personality traits.

We brought you details on FIFA 11's new Personality + system earlier this month.

It's largely based around on-pitch attributes: Wayne Rooney will hold off defenders and strike shots from distance with pace, for example.

But in a new Q&A, FIFA 11 line producer David Rutter gives a bit more detail about how players will show unique characteristics.

"We've done a lot of work on our player models this year as part of Personality +. We've added nine base geometries and a few special cases this year for the player models" he says.

"We generate pretty much an infinite number of player models based on those base geometries by changing the shape of the arms the legs and the player body types.

"We're able to support any kind of player model."

When asked how different the in-game abilities of the players really were this year, Rutter expanded, "It is quite significantly different."

"The overwhelming sensation when you were playing FIFA 10 was that the speed and strength of the players mattered the most."

"I used the example showing off [Campbell and Arshavin] because visually they're both very different and last year they weren't very different at all, they actually used the same kind of locomotion styles," he continued.

"This year we've actually implemented specific animations for those players and Personality + goes far far beyond just dribbling."

You can see the whole Q&A for yourself below.

Enslaved developer, Ninja Theory would've made Heavenly Sword 2, but Sony owns the IP and technology.

That's according to studio boss Tameem Antoniades, who told CVG that motivation to go multi-format - and the fact it made no money from Heavenly Sword - meant parting ways with the series.

"I don't know if Sony made any money on Heavenly Sword but we didn't," he said, adding that the studio's survival meant it had to quit being PS3 exclusive.

"There are pros and cons, if you're exclusive you get more attention but when you're multi-platform, at this stage in the cycle, there's more competition. You've got to weigh it against each other," he added.

"But we couldn't do Heavenly Sword 2 as a multi-platform because it's owned by Sony, the tech we developed for that game is also owned by Sony."

Would Ninja Theory of done it? "Probably, I think we would have," said Antoniades.

"But there's a different dynamic with a platform holder. I mean, we signed up and we happy to sign up to it because it allowed our studio to grow and we're really grateful for that, but it feels like as a studio we need to think about the next few years, the next games we release.

"We want them to be multi-platform so we had to come up with a new idea."

Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe has said that the vehicular combat series may never commanded the respect of triple-A games like Call of Duty, but it's not trying to.

"We did Twisted Metal Black in 2001 and about three months later GTA hit. And since GTA came out, the idea of being in a car in a level - there's a lot of brand new expectations about what that means," Jaffe told Joystiq.

"We may never reach the heights we did with the old school Twisted Metals, but we're making the people who love those kinda games happy it seems and we're happy about that," he went on to admit.

He later said: "We've had our fans and been real profitable. But it's never had the kind of respect of like, Modern Warfare. Even when we were at our heights. We never got the awards and stuff. But for Twisted, we always felt good about that. Twisted feels like a bar band to us. Or a garage band that has a lot of heart and soul. And we're real loyal to our fans. We may never be The Beatles, but we don't really want to be The Beatles with this game."

Activision: Queremos mejorar nuestra imagen

Activision is looking to improve its image among the gaming community.

That's according to Activision COO Thomas Tippl, who says that the company is well aware of how it's perceived by a "vocal minority".

"Whenever you become number one in any industry, you automatically get a target painted on your back. You've got to be able to live with that," Tippl told IGN.

"Obviously, we stay connected to what's going on in the communities so we're not ignorant that there's a very vocal minority out there that has some very strong feelings."

"There are many things we can probably do better in the way we communicate with the communities so that we don't run the risk that certain things get pulled out of context and blown out of proportion," he continued.

"At the end of the day, when you look at 2009 and what people bought, it's Activision games. We were the only publisher that had success in 2009. No one else did. We're focused on producing great products."

"Now, can we do a better job from a PR and community management perspective? I think we can. We are focused on doing that, but you will always have a vocal minority that no matter what you do they're not going to be happy."

Activision is of course one of the industry's biggest publishers having put out the Call of Duty series with Treyarch and Infinity Ward until its relationship with the latter was suddenly severed.

The publisher managed to rock the industry soon after, however, by signing a deal with Bungie back in April.

It will, of course, also be putting out Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops on November 9.

Crash Team Racing and Motor Toon Grand Prix to become PSOne Classics

Two of the best racing games on the original Playstation will become PSOne Classics. The latest ESRB listing update includes Crash Team Racing and Motor Toon Grand Prix being rated for the PSP and Playstation 3.
Released in 1999, Crash Team Racing was developed by the world-renowned Naughty Dog and is still considered to be one of the best kart racing video games. Before working on the legendary Gran Turismo series, Polyphony Digital developed the Motor Toon Grand Prix series in which the second game was released in North America during the summer of 1996.
Both Crash Team Racing and Motor Toon Grand Prix will be re-published by Sony Computer Entertainment when they come out on the North American Playstation Store.

THQ has revealed that Tomonobu Itagaki's Devil's Third won't be hitting shelves until calendar year 2012.

The news came in the E3 investor's call we picked up last week - where the publisher also outed Darksiders 2 (also coming 2012) and discussed Gears Of War challenger Space Marine.

Devil's Third is a third-person action title for Xbox 360 and PS3. Itagaki said his heart was "pounding with anticipation" to announce the game.

The game has been developed by the new studio of the Ninja Gaiden creator, Valhalla Knights.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick made it pretty clear that he wants you to fork over a monthly subscription fee to play Call of Duty. Here's his exact quote:
"I would have Call of Duty be an online subscription service tomorrow," he said. "When you think about what the audience's interests are and how you could really satisfy bigger audiences with more inspired, creative opportunities, I would love to see us have an online Call of Duty world. I think our players would just have so much of a more compelling experience.

"I think our audiences are clamouring for it. If you look at what they're playing on Xbox Live today, we've had 1.7 billion hours of multiplayer play on Live. I think we could do a lot more to really satisfy the interests of the customers. I think we could create so many things, and make the game even more fun to play."
I won't justify this with commenting on how mind-boggling stupid it is to charge a monthly fee for a first-person shooter.

Dummy covers for White Knight Chronicles 2 on the PS3 have revealed something very interesting: To play the online mode in the game, players will have to activate a Geonet License on PSN. Each new copy of the game includes a single license code, and it is tied to a single PSN account. For gamers buying used copies, or those who want to use the online mode on more than one PSN account, they will have to purchase additional Geonet Licenses over PSN.

What¡?

As soon as the E3 is over, as every year, all eyes are directed towards the Tokyo Game Show. While still comes in between the German GamesCom, but somehow expected from the very nature not so much. It is worth noting that last year, unexpectedly, for the first time that Final Fantasy XIV Alpha GamesCom was shown on. And his appearance at the Square Enix GamesCom in recent years has expanded steadily in fact, now are developers such as Tanaka almost regulars.
But as I said, the Tokyo Game Show is coming up. And since we know today: Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be there with missed (by the way in any case, the new Versus news on this memorable day). That should be no surprise, because after the missed E3 presence is probably the Tokyo Game Show duty. Tetsuya Nomura said in an interview with Famitsu. That were not enough, because another Square Enix title is presented. Which one? This is not yet known. Nomura said in an interview only, a previously unannounced game show. What that be like ?

... y os dejo el cartel , q me ha molado:
