It has come to my attention in our Official TehSkeen Viper GC Extreme Forums that users have been suffering the fate of ruining their Viper GC Extreme modchips. You cannot; I repeat - you cannot save your settings to the chip and/or flash it via DVD using the Cobra v1.2 BIOS.
If you try to save anything to the Viper GC Extreme's Flash it will hang and sit there trying to write to itself over and over again and eventually (after around 20 minutes) will destroy it's own flash.
Please people, only program your Viper GC Extreme using the USB Programmer and if until an *official* BIOS comes out for the chip do not attempt to save anything, be it BIOS settings, Video Mode and/or Cheats to the chip. If you accidently do turn your GameCube off ASAP.
I have been able to test my Extreme and know first hand you cannot save settings, but have not (out of common sense) let the thing sit there for more then 30 seconds after trying to. Letting it sit there for 30-60 mins is completely foolish.
Resumiendo... que lo que tu explicas se parece al error que hay al querer guardar los canvios hechos en el viper gc... yo no lo dejaria mucho rato corriendo ese intento de Erasing
